Have you ever experienced a mindset shift that changed what was possible in your life?
Do you tend to plan out your mindset shifts like goals, or do you allow shifts to unfold naturally?
Are there mindset shifts you would genuinely like to embrace, but no matter how much you try, something is holding you back?
In this week’s newsletter, we’ll examine the three basic types of mindset shifts that can occur. These three types of mindset shifts are 1) Organic shifts, 2) Controlled shifts, and 3) Postponed shifts.
You can access a short guide on mindset shifts here >
How are you currently approaching mindset shifts in your life? How would you like to be approaching them?

🌻 New Book Club 🌻
This is a final call for anyone who would like to participate in the upcoming book club for Mindset Psychology. This book is a simpler and more concise version of The Nature of Mindset. It is currently in a draft format, and I am hoping to use the book club process to help refine and ready the book for publication.
In terms of the book club process, I will share a copy of the draft in December, and you will have 6-7 weeks to read, before we come together for a two-hour call in February. The book is 140 pages long, so it is relatively short to read.
The book club will be facilitated like a cosy campfire conversation, where everyone will have the opportunity to share their learnings and experiences. The session will also be grounded in the principles of deep listening, mutual care, and shared inquiry.
Book club spaces are limited. If you would like to join, please send an email expressing your interest by 15th December ->
Or you can send me a message via the substack app.
YES! to all three questions. Looking forward to the book club.
Organic shift
In my experience (of over 2 decades) organic shifts can be nurtured and cultivated, like an 'inner garden'.
Controlled shift
In my experience “controlled shifts” (as defined here) can potentially trigger a ‘pseudo mindset shift’. Things may look and feel ‘shifted’ for a certain period, and snap back into the old mode (usually deeper or worse)
'control' can be helpful, if it follows the lead of the organic process.
Postponed shift
“... mindset shifts that genuinely what to happen….”
(typo: ‘what’ ›› wait or want?)
In my experience "postponed" means 'I am not yet ready for that shift,' for whatever reason (always related to trauma, which feeds and sustains the attachment).
Mindset shifting (in my understanding) is a natural growing process. Growth spurts are great, and memorable. Growth plateaus are valuable and play an important role in the process too.
